Responding to an invitation to participate in the second edition of Douala Sud 2010, organized by Doual’art, Younes Rahmoun created a wooden and corrugated iron ghorfa. Built on a wooden platform on stilts at the center of a mangrove in the Wouri River, the ghorfa refers to the precarious homes of undocumented people living at the edges of Douala and who survive thanks to the river’s resources.
